Hello my name is Carl Crane I was born and raised in Cumberland House Sk. At an early age I would listen to my dad’s old radio on the trap line and when we were home, I would listen to George Jones and all the greats of that era. I received my first guitar at the age of 11 from my parents who bought it from a Sears catalogue. I taught myself how to play by listening, I loved singing country songs. I went to wakes and funerals with my parents and found a love for Gospel music also. I started my career singing country music, I played on various stages including Voices of the North (5 yrs. consecutive), Rabbit Lake Country Jamboree, and Founders Day stage in Prince Albert and numerous other places. My love for Gospel became very strong and I started singing at wakes, funerals, and Gospel Jams, I found I liked helping people heal from all their hurts, including addictions because I also overcame addictions and many losses. I was voted most requested in 2010 on M.B.C. Radio for a story that was given to me to put into music “My Mom, My Heart” I have written many songs but the peoples favorite has always been God has taken an Angel home, this song has helped many, and has been heard on YouTube all over from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta, States and even Germany.

I have shared the stage with many artist including Tom Jackson, Patricia Conroy, Chester Knight, Red Blaze, Donny Parenteau, and Yvonne St Germaine. I decided this year to meet the deadlines for Indigenous Music Awards because many people including my family told me it was time to let more people know about my music, and all that it has done in lives of others. My life is dedicated in helping others heal with music and scriptures from the good Lord.

I was nominated in the 2017 Gospel Music Awards for best album. I was also nominated for the seniors mechanism award for helping communities to which I brought home the award.
