The solo Native American flute is one of the most effective instruments for meditation. Kelvin Mockingbird (Diné) is a master at creating melodies that help guide listeners to moments of peace and relaxation. For 22 years, Kelvin has performed on the Native American Flute and sharing Medicine Stories of the Diné. As a member of the highly influential musical group Burning Sky, Mockingbird performed at the 1996 Presidential Inaugural Ball for President Bill Clinton, at the 1996 Summer Olympics and at Jackson Browne’s Verde Valley Festival in 1998. Burning Sky released six recordings and received a Grammy® nomination for Best Native American Album for the album Spirits in the Wind. As a solo artist Kelvin performs throughout the southwest at both private and public events. In 2006 he released his first solo flute recording, Sacred Fire through Canyon Records. Kelvin’s meditative playing is firmly rooted in his personal philosophy; “We are only a single note lingering in this cosmos, but as one people we make a strong chord in harmony with the universe.”
