I would like to acknowledge the Creator and this holy sacrament chief medicine, my children, many friends and huge loving family, The Birds and Ahenakews. I would also like to thank my supporters and listeners.
The medicine gives me the original song compositions, and I believe I am supposed to share them with the people. It is my hope you all feel a sense of healing and well-being from the songs.
Special acknowledgement to: Joey Poorthunder and his wife Leeann, and brother Zack for the beautiful harmonious harmonies. Thank you to friend and my long- time producer George Parker, his son Wyatt, for his studio magic. Thanks to the U of S Wicehtowin Drama program. I would also like to thank The AMISKUSEES Semaginis Worme family foundation for their support. I would like to thank my son Terrence (Big Bird) for his heartfelt idea of “Water is Life.”
On behalf of my family and the NAC members in Saskatoon and area I will be donating 200 of these albums to Standing Rock to contribute to their efforts.
I would also like to apologize if I have ever done or said anything to offend anyone.
The song “Water is Life” came to me in a dream the morning of the recording. We are not alone in our desire to protect the water.
Wanita would like to dedicate this album to the many people across the land…who are the defenders and protectors of the land and water. Who stand in peaceful protest to honour mother earth….both past and present. In the spirit of her ancestor Chief Big Bear, thank you. Kinanaskomtinawaw.
